การใช้ "leave" สำหรับความหมายว่า "ทิ้ง"

LEAVE  กับความหมายว่า  ทิ้ง

บทนี้จะกล่าวเฉพาะคำว่า leave ที่ให้ความหมายว่า  "ทิ้ง"

ตัวอย่าง
1     อย่าทิ้งของไว้บนรถนะคะ
       Don't leave belongings on the bus.
2.    เราจะต้องทิ้งคุณไว้ที่นี่เป็นเวลา15นาที
       We will leave you here for 15 minutes.
3.    วัดนี้ถูกทิ้งไว้เป็นเวลานาน
       This temple was left for a long time.
4.    ทิ้งมันไว้ข้างหลัง
       Leave  it behind.
5.    เด็กๆจะถูกปล่อยทิ้งไว้เพื่อเล่นที่หาดเป็นเวลา1ชั่วโมง
       The children will be left to play on the  beach for 1 hour.
6.    เราจะต้องทิ้งกล้วยหวีนี้ไว้2วันจึงจะกินได้
       We have to leave this cluster of  bananas for 2 days to be able to eat.
       We have to leave this cluster of  bananas for 2 days. Then we can eat them.
7.    พระพุทธรูปองค์นี้ถูกทิ้งไว้ในเพิงเป็นเวลาประมาณ ๒๐ ปีก่อนจะพบว่า (ถูกพบว่า)เป็นพระพุทธรูปทองคำ)
        The Buddha image was left in the shack  about 20 years before it was found (หรือ discovered) as a golden Buddha image.

8.     วัดนี้ถูกทิ้งมาโดยไม่ได้มีการเหลียวแล(ไม่มีการรักษา)มา ๑๐ ปี แล้ว (นับมาถึงปัจจุบัน)
        This temple has been left without maintenance for 10 years.
9.     เนื้อจะนุ่มขึ้นเมื่อถูกทิ้งไว้ในน้ำสับปะรดเป็นเวลาหลายชั่วโมง=เนื้อจะนุ่มขึ้นเมื่อมันถูกทิ้งไว้ในน้ำสับปะรดเป็นเวลาหลายชั่วโมง
        Meat will be softer after being left in pineapple juice for several hours.=Meat will be softer after it is left in pineapple juice for several hours.

10.   ประเด็นนี้ถูกทิ้งค้างเติ่งมาหลายเดือนแล้ว

         This issue has been left in the lurch for months.
11.    ทิ้งเรื่องนี้ไปเลยไม่ต้องพูด/ เฉยๆเรื่องนี้เอาไว้
