 Bring กับ Take 

การใช้ คำว่า bring กับ take สำหรับบางคนเป็นเรื่องง่ายดาย  แต่สำหรับบางคนยังคงเป็นปัญหาใช้ผิดใช้ถูก  เทคนิคที่จะช่วยให้ใช้ง่ายขึ้น คือให้เอาตัวเราผู้พูดเป็นที่ตั้ง  ถ้าใช้คำว่า "เอาไป" หรือ "นำไป"  แสดงว่า เอาไปหรือนำออกไปจากตำแหน่งของเรา   ถ้าจะใช้คำว่า "เอามา" หรือ "นำมา"  แสดงว่า เอามา หรือ นำมาหาตำแหน่งผู้พูดเป็นที่ตั้ง  หรือจะใช้เทคนิคท่องจำไปเลยว่า    take = นำไป , เอาไป       bring =นำมา , เอามา

ตัวอย่าง

๑.  ชาวบ้านจะนำวัวมากินหญ้าที่ทุ่งนี้

-The villagers will bring the cows to graze in this ranch.

-The villagers are going to  bring the cows to graze in this ranch.

-The villagers are  to  bring the cows to graze in this ranch.

๒.  ชาวบ้านจะนำวัวไปไถนาเช้านี้

-The villagers will take the cows to plough the rice-field this morning.

-The villagers are going to  take the cows to plough the rice-field this morning.

-The villagers are to  take the cows to plough the rice-field this morning.

หมายเหตุ : คำว่า "ไถ" (นาหรือดิน) สามารถสะกดได้ทั้ง๒แบบ คือ plough และ plow

๓.  อย่าลืมเอาร่มไปด้วย

Don't forget to take the umbrella.

๔.  อย่าลืมเอาร่มมาไว้ที่หิ้ง

Don't forget to bring the umbrella to the shelf.

๕. มีคน(บางคน)เอากุญแจผิดดอกไป

-Someone took the wrong key. 

-Somebody took the wrong key. 

๖.  เรือพานักท่องเที่ยวไปเกาะและรอจนถึงบ่าย๓ จึงนำกลับมา

The boat takes tourists to the island and waits till 3 pm to bring them back.

๗.  เอาใบเล็กไปแล้วก็เอาใบใหญ่มา

Take the small one then bring he big one.

๘.  อาหารผิดจานถูกนำไปให้ลูกค้าที่โต๊ะนั้น

The wrong dish was taken to the customer at the table.

แบบฝึกหัดชุดที่ 1

1. รถบัสจะพาลูกค้าโรงแรมไปประชุมที่ศูนย์ประชุมแห่งชาติเวลา ๘.๐๐ นาฬิกา

2. รถบัสจะนำลูกค้ามารับประะทานอาหารเย็นที่โรงแรมเวลา๑๘.๐๐ นาฬิกา.

3. สัมภาระทั้งหมดได้นำไปไว้ที่ห้องแล้ว

4. ทัวร์โคได้นำลูกค้าไปที่จุดนัดพบแล้ว

เฉลย 

1. The bus (coach แบบอังกฤษBritish Englishใช้)will take the hotel clients to the meeting at the national convention centre at 8 am.

2. -The bus will bring the clients to have dinner at the hotel at 6 pm.

หมายเหตุ : American English ใช้  baggage แทน luggage

4. The Tour-Co has taken  the clients to the meeting  point. 

หมายเหตุ : Tour-Co  มาจากคำว่า Tour Coordinator เป็นตำแหน่งที่มีเฉพาะในบางโรงแรม มีหน้าที่หนึ่งคือดูแลประสานงานเพื่อต้อนรับคณะทัวร์ที่จะเข้าพัก  เนื่องจากเป็นคนหมู่มาก ไม่สะดวกจะให้ลูกค้านับสิบๆคนเข้าลงทะเบียนที่เคาน์เตอร์เช็คอินปกติได้

เฉลย

1. The ferry  can take at most 200 passengers a time.

(ferry  ออกเสียงว่า  เฟ-รี    ไม่ใช่  เฟอ-รี  แบบไทยๆ)
