การใช้คำว่า "leave" เฉพาะความหมายว่า "ทิ้งไว้" หรือ "ฝากไว้"

คำว่า leave  มิได้มีความหมายเฉพาะว่า "ออกไป", "จากไป" ตามความหมายที่ใช้กันอยู่ทั่วไป 
ในบทนี้จะมีการยกตัวอย่างการใช้ leave ในความหมายว่า "ทิ้งไว้" หรือ "ฝากไว้" 

ตัวอย่าง
๑.  คุณจะต้องคืนห้องพักภายในเวลาเที่ยง และกรุณาฝากสัมภาระไว้กับโรงแรม   รถจะออก(จากโรงแรม)ตอน๓ทุ่มตรง
You have to check out within noon  and  please leave the luggage (baggage) with the hotel; the bus will leave at 9 pm. sharp.
๒.  กรุณาอย่าทิ้งรองเท้าไว้ที่นี่ 
Please don't leave shoes here.
๓.  กุญแจ(กุญแจห้อง)ทิ้งไว้ที่เคาน์เตอร์ก็ได้ค่ะ
The key (The keys) can be left at the counter.
๔.  คุณลืมกล้องไว้บนรถหรือเปล่า? (คุณทิ้งกล้องไว้บนรถหรือเปล่า?)

๕.  พวกเขาจะต้องทิ้งน้ำทะเลเอาไว้ประมาณ๑๐วัน ก่อนการที่จะระบายน้ำไปในนา(นาเกลือ)ขั้นที่๒
They have to leave the sea water about 10 days  before draining it into the second field.
๖.  พวกเขาจะต้องทิ้งน้ำทะเลเอาไว้ประมาณ ๑๐วัน ก่อนที่พวกเขาจะระบายน้ำไปในนา(นาเกลือ)ขั้นที่๒

๗.  พวกเขาจะต้องทิ้งน้ำทะเลเอาไว้ประมาณ ๑๐วัน ก่อนที่พวกเขาจะสามารถระบายน้ำไปในนา(นาเกลือ)ขั้นที่ ๒

๘.  ไม่ว่าคุณจะเต็มใจ(ที่จะทำ)หรือไม่ คุณก็จะต้องทิ้งรองเท้าไว้ที่นี่ (ห้ามใส่รองเท้าเข้าไป)
No matter you are willing to do or not ,you have to leave shoes here.
No matter you are willing to do or not , you have to leave footwear here.  (ถ้าพูดประโยคแบบนี้ ผู้ฟังอาจจะตีความว่าหมายถึงถุงเท้าหรืออะไรที่ห่อหุ้มเท้าทั้งหมด  ดังนั้นผู้พูดก็ต้องพิจารณาเองว่าผู้ฟังคิดลึกหรือละเอียดขนาดนั้นหรือไม่))
๙.  หลังจากการล่มสลายของกรุงศรีอยุธยา พระราชวังแห่งนี้ (พระราชวังจันทรเกษม  อยุธยา) ถูกทิ้งไว้กว่า ๘๐ ปี   จากนั้นก็ถูกสร้างขึ้นใหม่ในสมัยรัชกาลที่๔แห่งรัตนโกสินทร์

The mother leaves the baby ones to be on forage. หรือ The mother leaves the baby ones to forage.
The mother left the baby ones to be on forage.หรือ The mother left the baby ones to forage.
๑๓. ทิ้งมันไว้ทั้งคืนแล้วค่อยทอด
Leave it for the whole night then fry it.
๑๔. เขาไม่อยู่ในห้อง  คุณต้องการจะฝากข้อความไว้ให้เขาไหม?
He is  not in the room.  Would you like to leave message for him?

๑๕. มีของมากเหลือเกิน เราจะต้องทิ้งบางอย่างไว้ที่นี่สักพักหนี่ง (เอาไปไม่หมด)

There are so many things.  We have to leave something here for a certain time.

๑๖.  มีรองเท้าสองสามคู่ที่ถูกทิ้งไว้ในเรือ

-There are a few pairs of shoes that are left in the boat.

-There are a few pairs of shoes  left in the boat.

-A few pairs of shoes  are left in the boat.

๑๗.  ประเด็นนี้ถูกทิ้งไปไม่ได้ตรวจเลย
